ResufFX Fractional Resurfacing
ResurFX is an innovative non-ablative laser treatment that improves skin texture and appearance by resurfacing the skin, stimulating collagen production. It's ideal for addressing fine lines, wrinkles, enlarged pores, scars, and hyperpigmentation. It also improves the appearance of scars, including scarring caused by surgery, acne, or trauma.

The ResurFX laser creates multiple tiny microchannels in the skin utilizing a patented scanning technology, which allows the laser to control the depth and density of the microchannels. The scanner allows the treatment to be completed in a single pass and reduces the potential for the treated tissue to become overheated. During the healing process your skin’s own healing factors restore collagen and elastin, creating smoother, more even-toned skin. Unlike ablative lasers, it doesn't remove the top layer of skin, minimizing downtime to just a few days. However, the collagen building phase lasts several weeks, and the treatment results improve with time.
ResurFX treatments can be performed on the face, neck and chest, as well as other areas on the body that has visible sun damage and crepiness from excessive sun exposure. Studies have shown the ResurFX to also improve the width, depth and color of stretch marks significantly. Other treatments may be combined with ResurFX, such as IPL Photofacial, and chemical peels to further improve results. The addition of topical prescription medications can prepare the skin for treatment, as well as improve and maintain the final outcome.

During your consultation, your medical and skin history will be reviewed in detail. There are certain skin and medical conditions that ResurFX is contraindicated for, and these will be discussed in detail. The pre and post care instructions will be reviewed with you, and you will be given written instructions. Typically, a series of 3-5 treatments spaced 4 weeks apart will produce the best results. The number of treatments varies depending on the skin concern and severity. Maintenance treatments every 6-12 months provide an additional collagen boost and rejuvenate the skin.

It is imperative to avoid excessive sun exposure prior to and after the treatment to ensure the best results and to reduce the possibility of side effects. It is important to plan a few days of downtime, due to redness and swelling, that subsides to “pink and puffy” in a day or so, followed by some bronzy-type flakiness. Diligent use of sunblock after treatment is recommended and make up can be applied after treatment.
